Mighty cone at last...

Enough guessing I decided. Joseph and I made a plan to eat at Mighty Cone on S congress. A well known eatery (they have been seen at ACL in yrs past).  I was at Barton Springs and Joseph was at work so he gave me a call when he was leaving, timing was perfect.

It was hot Sat afternoon, probably over 100° by now. Luckily there was shade and a breeze to keep us somewhat cool.

I ordered up a hot and crunchy  chicken avocado cone while Joseph had one without the avocado. It was hot so we both went for a shake, they are made with fresh fruit and Blue Bell ice cream. I had strawberry while Joseph had a peach since they are in season. I think that might have been the highlight of the meal but maybe that's because it was sooooo hot.

This is definitely one of the food trucks that should be high on the list of mobile eateries.

Airstream at last...

Friday and it's lunchtime and knowing that I am going to be out of pocket for a week at the Amala Global youth Peace Summit I decide I need to go and find an Airstream serving food. I decide the  first one I spot will get the vote for today so to S Congress i head cause I know there are some there.

Headed down Congress ave I spot one on the right just before Guero's Taco bar. It was parked right on the side of the street in a small lot with other food trucks but this was an Airstream so it had to get my business today.

The place was called Crepes Mille, the menu seemed t be Asian inspired crepes so I decided to try the dry shredded pork. It came in a green crepe with a sweet sauce drizzled over it. Honestly I wasn't that impressed. The crepe had an doughy taste and the dried shredded beef (which I am used to from my travels in China) was a bit bland. Overall not too impressed but I did decide one day I would give them another try and go for the berries with ice cream crepe since I love those desert crepes.
